Mary P. “Pat” (Reynolds) Gibbons

Age 88, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully, Friday, April 11, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Daughter of the late John and Sallee Reynolds, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Bernard (Popeye) Gibbons.

Devoted mother of Vicky DiBasilio (Joe Crowley, the late Gary DiBasilio), Tracey Minardi (Rich), Cindy Berkshire (Bill), and Missy Gordon (Neil);

loving grandmother of Tricia Trotter (Rich), Brennan DiBasilio (Eva Kernan), Michael Minardi (Liz), Rachael Minardi (Jay Magid), Joanna Smollock (Mike), Maddie Marrero (Steve), William Berkshire, Lilly Berkshire, Noah Gordon, Thomas Gordon, and step grandchildren Joey Crowley (Jenna) and Christie Theys (Casey);

great-grandmother of Alice Trotter, Jane Trotter, Tommy Trotter, Anthony Minardi, Vincent Minardi, Francesca (Frankie) Minardi, Ben Magid, Jack Magid, Owen Smollock, Andrew Smollock and Camile Marrero. Step great-grandmother of Cameron Crowley, Emmie Crowley, Karen Theys, and Kennedy Theys.

Pat also leaves behind sister-in-law Mary Arnold, many nieces and nephews, as well as close family friends.

Pat’s family would like to acknowledge Noemi Cheverez for her compassionate assistance in Pat’s care during her final months.

Pat grew up in the East Liberty section of Pittsburgh, graduated from Sacred Heart High School, then married her high school sweetheart. She and Popeye raised their family in Penn Hills. Pat was a stay-at-home mom, and later enjoyed a career as a Merchandise Representative. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, watching old movies, traveling, and going to the beach, as well as spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends.

Pat was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was loving, loyal, smart, generous, and funny. She was devoted to her family and to her Catholic Faith, and was a beautiful person inside and out. Her daughters feel more than blessed to have had her as their mom.

Friends received at William F. Gross Funeral Home 11735 Frankstown Rd. (at Rodi Rd.), Penn Hills on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Parish Sacred Heart Church, 310 Shady Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15206 at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Penn Ave. and 45th St., Pittsburgh, 15224.
