Gregory Daniel Ambrose
Age 44, of Arlington VA, originally from Pittsburgh PA, died on May 3, 2016. Greg is survived by his parents; Gregory J. and Rosemarie Ambrose; he is the brother of Michelle (Paul) Kontos, Daniel and Joshua Ambrose; uncle of Marissa Bosh and Konstantinos Kontos; also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. Greg graduated from The George Washington University with a Master’s Degree in Information Systems Technology, Management of Information Systems, including Chief Information Officer Certification. Greg was Chief Information Officer for the Department of Homeland Security, Chief Information Officer for the Department of State, Deputy Chief Information Officer of product development for the Department of Veteran Affairs, Systems Engineering Chief/Systems Development Lead for the Department of Defense. In 2013 Greg earned a Federal 100 award for his work as Chief Information Officer of the Department of Homeland Security Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology program, whose successor is the Office of Biometric Identity Management.
Friends received in William F. Gross Funeral Home, Ltd. 11735 Frankstown Rd. (at Rodi Rd.), Penn Hills Monday and Tuesday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayers Wednesday at 9:15 a.m., Mass of Christian burial at St. Januarius Church 10 a.m. Greg’s final resting place will be at Plum Creek Cemetery.
