Margaret Hazel (Kiser) Frank, "Marge"
loving wife and mother, passed away on January 14, 2021, at the age of 80 following an extended illness. In her final months she was cared for at home by several close friends and family.
She was born in North Bessemer, PA on July 11, 1940 to Paul Joseph Kiser and Nettie "Marie" (Christian) Kiser. She was a 1958 graduate of Penn Township High School (Present-Day Municipality of Penn Hills).
She married her husband of 61 years, Robert J. Frank (Bob) on May 30, 1959. She and Bob lived in Glasgow, Montana while Bob was stationed at Glasgow AFB. Marge returned home by train via the Great Northern Railroad, one of her most significant memories as she was pregnant with her daughter. Shelley was born in October 1963, one day before Bob was discharged from the Air Force.
She (and Bob) spent most of her life in Penn Hills, PA where Marge worked as a homemaker and grocery store cashier while raising Shelley, and later her son Robert who was born in March 1965. Marge continued raising her children while spending as much time as possible gardening. She loved her yard which was filled with various annuals, perennials, herbs, and a vegetable garden. She enjoyed weekend/day trips in the country, exploring, antiquing, golfing and visiting her children and granddaughter Beth. She loved her family more than anything!
In 1986, Marge returned to school at Allegheny County Community College where she obtained her Associate's Degree in Nursing, achieving a 4.0 grade average which she was extremely proud. She worked as and RN at Central Medical in Pittsburgh for a number of years before developing challenging illnesses which later limited her ability to do the things she loved.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Bob (December 10, 2020), her parents, brothers David Kiser and James Kiser.
She is survived by her brothers Charles Kiser, William Kiser, and Paul G. Kiser, daughter Shelley (John) Pokrivka, son Robert (Carin) Frank, granddaughter Elizabeth “Beth” Pokrivka; step-grandchildren Adam (Charlea) Fullum, Thomas (Kayla) Fullum; step-great grandchildren Cameron, Reese, and Reagan Fullum.
