James C.” Jim” Dempsey

Age 77, of Plum, passed away June 12, 2020 at Concordia of Fox Chapel. Left behind to cherish his memory includes his devoted wife, Darlene L. (Lilja) of 57 years; children, James M. (Jeanine) and Scott D. (Candi); grandchildren Dylan, Drake, Chandler and Casey.  Jim was fortunate to have strong family bonds; including sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, church family and friends. Jim was born and grew up in East Liberty where he met and ultimately married the girl next door. Jim later moved to Penn Hills where he raised his family. Jim was a very hard worker. He worked for Sears, Roebuck & Co. for 33 years including automotive and shipping/receiving departments. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Concordia of Fox Chapel for their compassionate and dedicated care.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s honor to Mount Hope Community Presbyterian Church, 12106 Frankstown Rd., Penn Hills, PA 15235.

Martin G. “Marty” Holtman

Age 65, of the North Side formerly of Penn Hills, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Son of the late Donald and Glorianna Holtman; brother of Donna (Dennis) Penrose, Sandra (John) Steele, Karen (Tony) Testa and the late Phyllis (surviving Michael) Gentile; uncle of Joe, Sissy, Amanda, Hannah, Robin, Kelly, Anthony, Nick, Stephanie, Samantha; also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews. Marty loved sports, horse racing and gambling. He worked at the post office where he found many friendships and  had many friends from the North Side.

Daniel V. “Danny” Petrelli

Age 75, of Penn Hills, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Husband of the late Debbie, father of Dean, Bryan (Rachel), and the late Danny, Jr. Petrelli; grandfather of Brandon O’Bryan, and Nina and Mia George; brother of Ronnie and Donnie Petrelli, Donna Pasco and Dorene Moran; brother in-law of Diane and Donna. Age 90, of Penn Hills, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth E.; daughter of the late Michael and Antoinette Pjontek; step daughter of Anna Pjontek; mother of Marcia (Larry) Irr, Karen (John) Lodise, Patty (Tony) Gyke, Donna (Dale) Etter, Janet (Tom) Boyle, Joyce (the late Michael) Pagley; grandmother of Tony (Sara), Michelle (Jarod), Lindsey (Rob), Anthony, Devon, Kenneth; great-grandmother of Ethan, Reese and Ryder; sister of Dolores (Bob) Smith, Mary Anne (the late Tony) Naple, John (Kathy) Pjontek, Mike, Jr. (Pat) Pjontek and the late Rose and Tony Lijewski; godmother of Judy (David) Rundquist;  also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was an original member of Saint Susanna Parish, choir member and vacation bible study summer camp volunteer.

Andrea J. Ventomiller

Age 76, of Penn Hills, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020. Beloved wife of Vincent; cousin of Cathy (Bob) McGowan; sister in-law of Virginia (Leo) Nagorski; aunt of Tatyana Nagorski. Andrea was a much loved teacher for Pittsburgh Public Schools and an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma Service Sorority. She was also an active member of Penn Hebron Garden Club.
