Patricia L. “Pat” Niemie

Age 89, passed away peacefully to return home to the Lord Sunday, October 1, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Philip Niemie; mother of Patricia (Paul) Karp, Philip (Judy) Niemie, Jr., Russell (Jamie) Niemie, and Rebecca (Rodney) Williams; loving grandmother of Paul E., David, James, John, Veronica, Melissa, Matthew, Kirsta, Jim, Joel, Kyle, Brianna, Erika, and the late Angela; great-grandmother of 31; great-great-grandmother of one; sister of the late Jan Kilmer and Jerry Gonce. Also survived by her Atascadero Bible Church Family. She found great joy in being the best homemaker and taking care of her family. She was fun and feisty, a great storyteller, and a fierce lover of her children. We will miss her greatly. Elizabeth G. “Betty” Palkovich (Lynch)

Age 88, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully Monday, September 18, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Francis J. Palkovich; mother of Todd (the late Cinde) Palkovich and Lisa (Lou) Cuccaro; grandmother of Kristin Crispell, Michelle (Nate) Sprenkle, Eric Palkovich, and Michael (Ashley) Cuccaro; great-grandmother of Collin, Maddie, Lila, Abby, Ellie, and Mia; sister of the late James H. Lynch, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish St. Bernadette Church, 245 Azalea Dr., Monroeville, PA 15146 on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10 a.m. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

 

Nancy J. Laughery

Age 80, of Holiday Park, Plum Borough, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 3, 2023. Beloved wife of Carl R. Laughery; mother of Linda (Steve) Selzer, Michael (Keely Austin) Laughery, and Lisa (Eric) Burns; Grammie of Matthew, Andrew, Joshua, and Rachel; sister of Janet (Jim) Gearing and Carol (Thom) Zugates. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Nancy found joy in photography, flowers, and cooking but overall, her grandchildren and family/friends were her true enjoyment. Donald “Don” Musa

Age 76, of Penn Hills, Passed away after a brief illness, Friday, September 8, 2023. Beloved son of the late Ray and Emily Musa; brother of Gerald (Diane) Musa; uncle of Eric Musa.

Victor G. “Vic” Musgrove, Sr.

Age 51, of Stanton Heights, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 26, 2023. Fiancé of Nakia Walls; son of Hazel Musgrove and the late Gregory Joseph; father of Victor G. “VJ” Musgrove, Jr.; brother of Joy (Joseph) Barley and brother-in-law of Marvin Barley, Troy (Greg) Joseph, and the late Tara Joseph. He is also survived by his adored father figure, Willie Williams; best friend/brother, Emmett "Sonny" Wilson; best friend/sister, Shawny Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He graduated from Penn Hills High School in 1990 and continued his education at California (Pa.) University, where he was a linebacker on the football team.

Vic had many professions throughout his life, and one of his most gratifying accomplishments was his barbershop, VIP Styles, located in downtown Pittsburgh. VIP Styles opened July 1, 2004, and has been a staple for the Black community ever since. His heart always led him to give back by offering free haircuts and hosting book bag drives for those in need. His charitable contributions, business savvy, and kind heart led him to receive the Men of Excellence Award in 2018.

He will be remembered for all the kindness and compassion he shared with his friends, family, and the community. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. Vic will be forever missed.
