Age 88, of Penn Hills, on April 30, 2014. Beloved husband of Dorothy M. Gaus;, loving father of Paul Gaus of Penn Hills, Thomas Gaus of Plum, Richard Gaus of Greensburg, Janet Schepcoff of TX, Ruth Gaus of CA, Susan Podobnik of Plum, and the late Daniel Gaus and Judith Rassias of Fineview; caring grandfather of Neil, Andrew, Joshua & Chelsea Gaus, Sara, Michael & Anna Schepcoff, Shaelyn & Travis Watson, Sharon & Daniel Podobnik; great - grandfather of Scarlette Gaus; brother of Raymond, Msgr. Arnold, Mary Bassett, Robert, and the late James, John, Bede and Edward. Carl was raised in Johnstown PA, served in the Navy during WWII, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, Civil Engineer, Land Surveyor, co-founder of the Gateway Engineers, enjoyed gardening and loved to travel.
