Theodore P. Flora, Sr.

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the age of 99. Born on February 4th, 1923, was a long-time resident of Penn Hills. He coached little league and Legion baseball and later in life, he was also a very active member of the Senior Citizens Community Center where he served on the Board of Directors and Veteran’s Group. Theodore was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Field Artillery in the Rhineland of Central Europe under General Patton. He was also a member of Operating Engineers Local #66 for over 74 years. Husband of the late Elizabeth Flora; father of Theodore P. (Lynne) Flora, Jr. and John C. Flora; grandfather of 6; great-grandfather of 5; brother of John A. Flora. Patricia A. Rizzo (Fedele)

Of Murrysville, formerly of Wilkinsburg, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022. Wife of the late Carl M. Rizzo, Jr.; mother of Dionne (Ron) Weiderstein, John Murphy, Jr., and Georgia Murphy; grandmother of Lindsey Murphy, Brandon Weiderstein, Julia Murphy, and John Murphy; sister of Maria Brown, Linda Musacchio, Marlon Fedele, and the late George Fedele. Patricia spent most of her time doing what she loved the most, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Carl F. Smith

Age 75, of Churchill, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Friday, June 3, 2022. Beloved husband of Fran Amore; father of Lisa (Mark) Youngo and Nikki (Bruce) Loughner; step-father of Patrick and Vanessa Amore; grandfather of Anthony and Giuliana Youngo and Lexi, Nate, and Parker Loughner; son of the late William Smith and Gladys (Hassenplug) Zayc; brother of the late Gerald F. Smith and William Smith. After graduation from Braddock High School, Carl joined the US Navy and served as a Seabee during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked many years for Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh before starting his own electrical company, “Smith Electric”. Carl was the former proprietor of Hotel Puhala, Fairways, Gasoline Alley, and PT Pub and Grub. He was a member of the Norwin Elks and Edgewood Country Club, where he enjoyed playing golf. Richard P. Craska

Age 93, of Penn Hills, was called by The Lord and Angels on Thursday, May 26, 2022. Richard was born on September 28, 1928 in Greenfield where he was raised by his parents Francis and Theresa Craska. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley of 27 years and his brother Frank. Father of David (Danielle), Richard (Suzy), and Scott (Ruth); grandfather of Sean and Evan Craska; special, loving, and caring friend to Emma Borza, cousin Veronica Warziski, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dick served in the army and graduated from Duquesne University. He retired from J & L Steel and LTV Steel as an Industrial Engineer. He loved dancing to all types of music, his time spent at the beach, and traveling. Dick will be truly missed and loved by all who knew him. With many thanks to Kaleta Mutombo, his caregiver, and the Hospice Staff of AHN. Dick, rest in peace, your family and friends.
