Christa M. Weigold
Age 51, of Penn Hills, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Beloved daughter of Marie Podolak and the late Thomas A. Weigold; sister of Scott Weigold and the late Jeffrey Weigold. Also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Service and interment private.
Timothy J. Fox
Age 77, of Penn Hills, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024 after battling several health issues. Tim was born November 5, 1946 to Harry and Olga Fox. He is preceded in death by his brothers Harry and Dennis. He is survived by his son David, grandson Levi Fox, sister Marjorie Cerra, nephews Jimmy and John (Katie), great nephew Matthew Cerra, long time cherished “significant other” of over 30 years Diane Smith, grandchildren Valerie and Tony Franciscus, and many cousins and friends.
Tim graduated Penn Hills High School then joined the US Air Force. He worked as an aircraft electrician during the Vietnam War and retired as Master Sergeant Timothy J. Fox after a proud distinguished military career of 21 years.
Tim had several jobs after his military retirement, one of which was for ITT, a job he loved. He worked at the Top of the World in Thule Greenland for four years and then started his career at US Postal Service as a mail carrier and retired after 24 years as Safety Manager Western Pennsylvania District. Tim always said his job was “to keep your boss’s ass out of trouble” and he did that every day of his dedicated postal career.
Tim loved the Steelers and was a season ticket holder for many years. He also loved both watching and playing golf. He looked forward to Thursday afternoons when he would join his counterparts from the Pittsburgh Bulk Mail Center for a round.
Tim was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, and companion and was incredibly generous to those around him. He will be remembered for his famous saying that he was “Strong like bull” and “Hugs and kisses” when leaving events.

Virginia M. "Ginny" Metro
Age 93, of Penn Hills, graciously joined the elite club known as Heaven, Saturday, April 13, 2024. She was born Sunday, March 22, 1931, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Edward and Louise Steiner. She was a careerwoman of 45 years, working in banking. Ginny was deeply involved in her church, St. Susanna's in Penn Hills; president of the Christian Mothers; avid Card Club host; and the best baker of cookies in the tristate region. She loved to garden, watch Days of Our Lives, and spend as much time in Hallmark as it took to find the right card for the right message. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert W. Metro; mother of Phyllis (Bill) Wenzel, Dorie (Bob) Murray, and Ed (Joan) Metro; loving grandmother of Kathryn (Justin) Shephard, Sara Wenzel, Melony Murray, Colleen (Mike) Malena, Bob (Michelle) Metro, and Nicole Metro; great-grandmother to Sharon, McKenna, and Amelia; sister of the late Margie Kenny and Betty Adams; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Family will celebrate Ginny's life and receive friends Wednesday from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. at WILLIAM F. GROSS FUNERAL HOME, 11735 Frankstown Rd., Pgh., PA 15235. Mass will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Susanna Church, Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, 200 Stotler Rd., Penn Hills, PA 15235. Sante L. Pampena
Age 83, of Penn Hills, born in Spigno Saturnia, Italy, passed away surrounded by his most loving family members at Forbes Hospital Saturday, April 6, 2024. He came to the United States in 1963 after serving as a Signal Operator in the Italian Navy on the naval vessel “Nave Scimitarra”. When arriving in this country, he worked as a baker at Stagno’s Bakery. Through the Stagno Family, he met the love of his life, Annamarie Simeone Pampena. After marriage, he formed a successful business for himself as a landscape contractor for many years. Mr. Pampena was a member and former treasurer for many years of the Spigno Saturnia Italo American Society Men’s Lodge in Morningside, PA and the ISDA.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Annamarie Simeone Pampena; loving father of Andrew Pampena, Sandra L. Pampena, Valerie L. Caban, and Laurie Anne (Jeff) Matthews; adoring grandfather of Samantha (John) Yost, Nicholas Pampena, Danielle Harris (Mark Kiesel), Christopher E. Caban, Jacob L. Matthews, and his “little caboose” Colton J. Matthews; great-grandfather of Ada Marie Yost and Sante Kiesel. Son of the late Andréa and Ersilia (Tarquini) Pampena. Also survived by three brothers, special sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
