Phyllis Heacox Tomashewski

Age 99, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children Saturday, February 24, 2024 in Bedford, Ohio.  She was the daughter of George and Bertha Heacox and was born in Derry, Pennsylvania October 29, 1924.  She was a graduate of Derry High School and Miss Conely’s School.  She worked at Latrobe Steel as a secretary in the 1940’s.

After marrying her husband William, now deceased, they moved to Penn Hills, Pennsylvania where they raised their family.  Phyllis was a long-time volunteer at Forbes Regional Hospital, The Penn Hills Food Bank and St. Susanna’s Church. Phyllis relocated to Ohio in the 2019 to be closer to family.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Janet (Rudolph), David (Patricia), Carol (Brett), William (Anthony), six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Friends received in the William F. Gross Funeral Home, Ltd. 11735 Frankstown Road (at Rodi Road) Penn Hills on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral prayers at 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish St. Susanna Church, 200 Stotler Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15235 at 12 p.m.

Angelina D. Pampeno

Age 93, of Verona, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Gene Pampeno; mother of Mary Jean Pampeno. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Service and interment private.

 

Elizabeth “Betty” “Bootsie” Bigenho

Age 91, of Penn Hills, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Richard L. Bigenho; mother of Richard (Peggy) Bigenho, Jr., Debbie Pampena, and Tom (Jane) Bigenho; grandmotherr of six, great-grandmother of five; sister of the late William Brandenstein, Jim Brandenstein, and Shirley Rockar. She was an avid lover of sweets and had a passion for scratchoffs, bingo, and trips to the casino. She loved only WINNING at games with her kids and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her perfect hair and her call it like she sees it flair.

Tracy Ann Zatlin

Age 55, of Port Vue, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Beloved fiancée of Joseph Palmieri; survived by her puppy Isabella; mother of George Pompura III; daughter of the late Frederick and Jean (Stanton) Zatlin; sister of Michael (Darlene) Zatlin, Ralph (Debbie) Zatlin, Dennis (Linda) Zatlin, and MaryBeth (Ronald) Sikora. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Tracy was a volunteer fire fighter for the Penn Hills and Churchill area. She was also a paramedic.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish St. Susanna Church, 200 Stotler Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15235 at 10 a.m. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

Grace M. Hollis

Age 93, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Friday, February 9, 2024 just one week short of her 94th birthday. Beloved wife of the late Michael; devoted mother of Judith (Richard) Eiben, the late Michael (surviving Marlene) Hollis, Mark (Karen) Hollis, Diane (John) Santo, Linda (Steve) Eicheldinger, Nancy (Jim) Smathers, and Daniel (Annette) Hollis; sister of the late Donald (Glorianna) Holtman. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, one late grandchild, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to a charity of your choice.
