Margaret M. Lemme

Age 101, died January 17, 2022 at her home in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Margaret was born in New York City on August 3, 1920. Margaret resided in Rhode Island during her teen and World War II years where she met her husband to be, Dominick Lemme. It was a typical war time romance as he served in Europe until the end of the war. Dominick preceded her in death in 1998 after fifty-three years of marriage.

In 2016 Margaret relocated from Penn Hills to reside at Pine Knoll Retirement Community in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Margaret made many new friends there and was known for her ability to share detailed stories about living through the Great Depression and the war years. She was an accomplished artist and an avid reader. Margaret found satisfaction in her daily routines and enjoyed good Italian food. If a meal did not meet her approval she would say “It was nothing to write home about.”

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and her two sisters. She is survived by sons William (Patricia) and Donald (Kamini) Lemme and daughter Susan (Kevin) Fink. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of Margaret the family requests the consideration of donations to the Penn Hills Library or First Health Hospice of Pinehurst, North Carolina.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held in Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, St. Susanna Church Monday, January 24, 2022 at 11 a.m. No Viewing will be held. Arrangements by William F. Gross Funeral Home Ltd.
