Shawn Patrick Hogan

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Shawn Patrick Hogan, age 56, Sunday, October 26, 2025.

A loving husband, cherished friend, and passionate enthusiast, Shawn left us far too soon.  His vibrant spirit and warm heart will forever be missed.

Shawn was the beloved husband of Jennifer Elizabeth Hogan.  He was a dedicated and steadfast partner, building a life filled with love and laughter.  His presence was a gift in her life.

Shawn approached life with an enthusiasm, particularly for his lifelong passions:

Cars: A true gearhead, Shawn found joy in nice vehicles.  Whether he was attending car shows or simply talking about his favorite models, his love for all things automotive was infectious.

Sports: An avid sports fan, Shawn could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, the Penguins, the Steelers, and—believe it or not – even the Pirates.  He never missed a game.  A talented athlete, Shawn played and supported a variety of sports including baseball, softball, hockey, and pool.

Labrador Retrievers : Nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than his beloved Labrador Retriever dogs, especially his Chocolates.  They were his constant companions, and he treated them with boundless affection.  Their unconditional love was a deep source of comfort and joy throughout his life.

One of Shawn's most defining qualities was his loyalty. He maintained deep, meaningful bonds with a group of lifelong childhood friends.  These friendships were a source of immeasurable strength and happiness, filled with decades of shared memories, unwavering support, and countless laughs.  His friends will remember him as the one who was always ready with a helping hand, a quick wit, and a truly genuine heart.

Shawn was the beloved son of Judy and the late Pat Hogan; wife of Jennifer Hogan; father of Olive Wano; brother of Grant (Jennifer) Hogan, Christopher Hogan, and Jonathan (Sarah) Hogan; uncle of Devin, Leah, Finn, and Everett. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and too many friends to name.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116.
