James R. “Jim” “Jimmy” Nanci

Age 82, passed away on October 3, 2021 near his home in Palm Coast, FL. He was the widower of Marcia Nanci, whom he shared a life with for 52 years before her passing in January 2017.

Jim was born in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the first born son of James Nanci and Mary Nanci. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and attended Dayton University where he received a degree in mechanical engineering. He spent most of his career working for the Ralph A. Hiller Company (and later Rotork PLC) where he worked as both a design engineer and technical salesman.

Jim was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and was a member of various clubs and affiliations related to his Italian heritage. He enjoyed driving and talking about fast cars, smoking cigars, telling stories (both true (20%) and made-up (80%)), and spending time with his friends and two grandchildren bearing his name. He will be remembered by the ones that knew and loved him most for his eternally optimistic outlook and his loving and caring demeanor.

He is survived by his only son, Josh Nanci, his daughter-in-law Erin Nanci, and his two grandchildren James “Jay” Nanci and Eli Nanci (who were his world).

Friends received at William F. Gross Funeral Home 11735 Frankstown Rd. (at Rodi Rd.), Penn Hills Monday, October 11, 2021 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Service and Interment Private.
