Peggy Steyer

Age 91, passed away peacefully April 20,2020. Beloved wife of the late Louie Steyer; much loved mother of Diana Steyer Criscito and Robert Steyer; cherished grandmother of Jason Steyer, Tana and Scott Kutchell; Annie and Peggy Steyer; and Bill Kutchell; proud great-grandmother of Matt, Chris, Mason, Lorelei and Callan Kutchell; Brooke, Teagan, and Quinn Steyer; and McKenzie Kutchell. Elated great-great-grandmother of Abbey and Jolene Kutchell.

A fiercely independent woman, Peggy was the daughter of Irish immigrants, who was determined to create a comfortable life for herself and her family. A 43-year employee of Nabisco Bakery, she joined a class action suit for equal rights for women.

Peggy loved to bake, ceramic, garden, yard sale, lovingly boss Louie around, and most importantly spend time with her grandchildren. We thank her for raising all of us on chocolate chip cookies. Her famous lady locks were a staple at every family event. In her retirement years, she enjoyed a wonderful life with Louie as a Florida snowbird, volunteering with hospitals, city hall, the Jimmy Stewart Museum, and serving as a Eucharistic minister with the Catholic Church. If you needed a helping hand or delicious baked goods, Peggy was there.

We are sure when she arrived at Heaven’s gate, she jubilantly called out, “LOUIE!!!”

Peggy will have a private family viewing and Mass of Christian burial.
