Maxine C. Sommerer (Schindler)

Age 95, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 23, 2024. Beloved mother of Rhonda Krusling and Andrew Sommerer; grandmother of Heather (Mike) Coehrs, Shannon Krusling, and Nicholas Sommerer; great-grandmother of Mila and Mason; sister of the late August C. Schindler. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and family in Germany.

Constance D. “Connie” Morton

Age 97, of Oakmont, formerly of Tarentum, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Samuel “Bob” Morton; step-mother of Sandy O’Block; sister of the late Thomas Morton and Patrick (Janet) Mohn; niece of Dorothy and Gloria “Honey”. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Connie loved reading and crocheting. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the charity of your choice.

David E. “Dave” Carey, Jr.

Age 73, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Beloved husband of Elaine (Cestra); father of Tracy (Derrick) Riggins and Sean (Kristen) Carey; grandfather of Gianna, Westley, Ingrid, and Elaine “Lainey”; brother of John “Jack” (Lori) Carey; son of the late David E. and Rita Carey; brother-in-law of Dennis (Annie) Cestra. Also survived by numerous close cousins. Dave was employed by OK Grocery for over 20 years. He was a proud US Navy Veteran. He found joy in poker and other casino games.

(at Rodi Rd.), Penn Hills Friday, June 7, 2024 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Parish St. John the Baptist Church, 444 Holy Family Way, Plum, PA 15235 at 11 a.m.

 

John “Meter” Schorsch

Age 83, of Monroeville, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Son of the late John and Anna Schorsch; beloved husband of Virginia; father of Joseph, Michael “Mick”, and the late Robert “Bubba”; step-father of Angela, Donna, Lisa, and Chrissy; beloved grandfather and great-grandfather.

John was a retired Port Authority driver who went by “Meter” and could always be found playing cards.

There will be a private Celebration of Life.

Munaish A. Ramnanan

Age 77, originally born in Las Lomas, Trinidad, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 1, 2024. Beloved husband of Mary Grace Ramnanan; father of Todd and Tiffany Ramnanan, step-father of Naja (John) Brown and Jovan (Kimberly) Harris; grandfather of Haley, Morgan, Brendan, Cali, Graeson, Lilly and Landon; brother of Shirlin, Shamwantee, Gandi, Molay, Khrishna, Kumar and Devi “Baby”; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Munaish was a long time, practicing member of SGI-USA. His faith was his guiding light to give him the strength to be the rock for his family. He loved relaxing by his garden, cooking, watching pro wrestling, and the Steelers.
