Ernest (“Ernie”) Frederick Tretow, Sr.

Longtime resident of Wintersville, OH, went home to God on April 12, 2016.  He was preceded in death by Albert W. and Katherine L. (Lynn) Tretow, his parents; Dorothy Francis Tretow, beloved wife; Marjorie Siebert Stokes, sister; and Mae and Ray Chellinsky whom he loved as family. Ernie is survived by his children, Joyce Tretow, Laura Markowitz (Nick), and Ernest F. Tretow, Jr., his grandchildren, Kathleen, Rachel, and Emily, and great-grandchild Abel.

Ernie was a longtime member and former Chairman for the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh, a longtime member of the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh, and a longtime member and former President of the Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy (Chicago 1991). Ernie was a longtime member of Wintersville United Methodist Church. Ernie was a graduate of Peabody High School, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, and a veteran of the Korean War. Ernie was Chief Chemist for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel until he retired in 1984.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Pittsburgh Conference, 300 Penn Center Blvd # 332, Pittsburgh, PA 15235 to support educational grants and scholarships for science students and place Scholarship/Grants on the memo line or to Wintersville United Methodist Church, 702 Main Street, Wintersville, OH 43953.

John L. Phillips, Jr.

Age 81, of Sun City Center, FL formerly, of Penn Hills, on Friday April 8, 2016. Beloved husband of 49 years of Beverly “Fritz” Phillips; brother of Jerry (Marilee) Phillips and Janet Stoer; also survived by nieces and nephews Mr. Phillips was a nuclear engineering manager employed for 40 years at Bechtel Bettis.

Dorothy V. Napolitana

Age 89, of Penn Hills, on Sunday, March 27, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Patrick; mother of Duane (Martha), Daniel (Laurie), David (Kathy) Napolitana; grandmother of Jennifer (Mike), Alaina, Alyssa and Matthew Napolitana; great-grandmother of Isabelle and Kane.

Age 84, of Monroeville, on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Beloved wife and forever friend of Joseph R. Wagner; mother of Kathleen Fahey Molinaro, Patricia Fahey (Brad) Rankin, and the late Michael Fahey; stepmother of Linda Bonacci (Greg Somerville), Mark (Debra) Wagner, David Wagner, Carol (John) Woodhall; grandmother of Casey and Erin Rankin, Kelly (Brian) Moore, Christopher and Alex Wagner and Gregory Somerville Jr.; great-grandmother of Kaitlyn and Cameron Moore and Madalyn Wagner; daughter of the Late John A. and Mary (Eagan) Paradine and step daughter of the late Helen Paradine; sister of the late Regina (Jean) Speicher; step sister of Rosella Shirey and the late Sophie Casperson; sister in-law of Sr. Mary Wagner C.D.P. and Regis Wagner.
