Bruce S. Wright

Age 74, of Oakmont, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021, after battling a long illness. Beloved husband of Peggy (Adams); father of Sherry (Jay) Yohe and Bruce A. Wright; grandfather of Tyler and Nicole Yohe; brother of Patty Iscrupe, Russ Wright, and Shirley Daw.

Bruce loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing a round of golf and grabbing a drink with the guys. He also retired after a 25-year career at the Allegheny County Coroner’s office.

Friends received at William F. Gross Funeral Home 11735 Frankstown Rd. (at Rodi Rd.), Penn Hills Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. The family is requesting that everyone please wear a mask. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 10 a.m.

 

 

Dwayne W. Thomas

Of Forest Hills Borough, suddenly and quietly went Home to be with The Lord on Sunday, August 22, 2021. He will be remembered and cherished by Family and Friends as an awesome Man of God who always had an encouraging word for those he met along the way, on his journey of life. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at The William F. Gross Funeral Home LTD. Located at 11735 Frankstown Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15235. A Homegoing Celebration Service will be held the following day, Monday, August 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church located at 6111 Rodman Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Interment will follow in The Homewood Cemetery at 1599 South Dallas Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217.

 

 

Scott Allen Hollinger

Age 63, passed away after a courageous 2.5-year battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He passed surrounded by his loving wife of 37 years Kathleen (Phillips) Hollinger and daughters Lindsay (Chris) Litterini and Nicole (Ryan) Omecene. The only son of the late Lucy and Theodore Hollinger, Scott was a proud Pop Pop to two granddaughters, Aubrey Lynn and Claire Scott Omecene. Scott is survived by Sisters Pamela (James) Curcio, Lori (Robert) Massaro, Mary Beth (Scott) Higgins, Aunt and Godmother Bernice (Ken) Eicheldinger, Aunts Theresa Lasher and Dorothy Murray, Nieces and Nephews Michael (Julia) Curcio, Janine Curcio (Josh Sherer), Samantha, Alex and Mathew Higgins, and Lucia and Sophia Massaro. He also leaves behind many other relatives and longtime friends who loved him.
Scott was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Church (Holy Family Parish), Verona and a graduate of Riverview High School in Oakmont. He earned an Accounting degree from Marietta College, where he was a four-year letterman catcher on the baseball team, and was employed as the controller at Conco Services LLC for 40 years.
Scott and Kathy met after a Pitt Football game, went on their first date to a Penguins game and were then season ticket holders for nearly 40 years, a pastime they enjoyed with their daughters and dear friends. He was an avid golfer and member of Edgewood Country Club and the former Churchill Valley Country Club.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family suggests that memorials be made to the ALS Association Western Pennsylvania Chapter, team “Scooters Bunch” (416 Lincoln Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15209). Friends received at William F. Gross Funeral Home 11735 Frankstown Rd. (at Rodi Rd.), Penn Hills Monday, August 16, 2021 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until the time of the blessing service at 8 p.m. The family is requiring that everyone wear a mask. A private interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery and celebration of life will be held at a future date.

 

Truman Charles Clough

Born September 12, 1937, died peacefully on August 15, 2021. He was the son of Truman and Edythe Clough, both deceased, of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania.  His brother Roger and sister Florence have also passed away this past year. Truman served in the Navy and was a graduate of Purdue University. He was an avid sports fan that included the Bills, Bengals, and the Reds.  He especially loved playing golf with his sons David, Andrew, and Evan, as well as his many close friends. Most importantly he loved God and had been active in the Lutheran church. Truman is survived by David, Richard, Andrew, and Evan, his daughter-in-law, two grandsons Max and Adam, as well as four great grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

Visitation will take place in Zion Lutheran church, 11609 Frankstown Road Penn Hills, PA 15235 on Tuesday August 24, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m.

 

Chester W. Bulkoski, Jr.

Of Penn Hills passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Beloved husband of Charlotte “Mitzi”; father of Brenda (Reid) Wolfe and Chester, III (Lori) Bulkoski; grandfather of Luke John and Carter Andrew Bulkoski.
