Mary J. Sgro (Leone)

Age 96, of Mather, PA, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, December 29, 2021. Mary was born November 13, 1925 in the Sharpsburg area of Pittsburgh, PA. One of nine children to Joseph and Rosie Leone. Mary survived the 1936 flood in Sharpsburg by fleeing a second story window by boat. During WWII, she worked as a Rosie making parachutes and grease-packing machine guns. Mary met the love of her life Domenick Sgro in 1945. They were married in 1947 and were married for almost 70 years when Domenick preceded her in death.  Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Surviving are her two children Connie Jennette and Frank (Jeannie) Sgro; 6 grandchildren Bill Ivanusic, Danielle Sgro, Domenica (Mike) Tendick, Gianna (Michael) Ames, Dani (Matt) Walton, and Tia (Steve) Knauss; 11 great-grandchildren. She loved God. She loved her family and was a loving friend. She loved feeding people, helping everyone, and was always there to listen. Anyone that met her, loved her and she adopted them into her heart as her family. She wanted nothing more than to be reunited with her beloved Domenick since his passing in 2016. In compliance with her wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral services. The committal will be private.

 

 

Kathleen A. “Kathy” Kenny

Age 66, of Penn Hills, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Beloved wife of John R.; mother of Tracy (Mack) Hawthorne, Bob Kenny, and John Kenny, Jr.; grandmother of Samantha, Nick, Tyler, Marcus, Breanna, Jenna, Mack, Jr., and Noah; great-grandmother of Weston and Marcus, Jr.

Service and interment private.

 

 

Anna Damico

Age 94, of Penn Hills, originally born in Indiprete, Italy, passed away peacefully Monday, December 20, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Elmer “John”; mother of Catherine (Bill) Damico Brock, David (Joy) Damico, and Loretta (the late Bill) Pollitt; grandmother of Michelle Wright, Daria Damico, and Stephanie Pollitt; great-grandmother of Jameson, Elvis, and Rosalia; sister of Rita Tamburri and the late Jean Spina and Frank Tamburri. Anna was a devout Catholic that lived her faith and loved her family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the charity of your choice.

Dolores Y. “Doll Doll” Stipancic

Age 90, of Penn Hills, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Charles E.; mother of Chuck (Leah) Stipancic, Cindy Ames, and the late Gary and Mark (surviving Lisa) Stipancic; grandmother of Lindsay, Bryan, Brandon (Jen), Ashley, Michael (Gianna), Jessica, Tyler, and Brady; sister of the late Donnie Yarros. Age 86, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Beloved husband of 66 years to Carolyn (Berg); father of Susan Luffy, Eugene (Debi) Kunkel, Col. Nancy Kunkel, Gary (Judy) Kunkel, Virginia (Rich) Bodnar, and Deborah (Duke) Denne; grandfather of Robert, Lindsey, Olivia, Abby, Ashley, and Michael; great-grandfather of Tyler, Shane, Lila, Marcus, and Londyn; brother of Richard Kunkel and the late Sister M. Francesca, Harry, and Charles. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Gene was a proud US Army veteran.
