Age 90, of Penn Hills, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Frank A. Manza; loving mother of Patricia (Bill) Reichenecker, Frank J. (Cynthia) Manza, Joseph (Judy) Manza and Jacqueline (Kirk) Staiger; dear grandmother of Angela (Jerry) Diller; Shelley (Nick) Fazi; Gina (Daniel) Staiger, Frank John Manza, Jr., Joseph M. Manza, Jr., and Jessica (Nick) Robertson; loving great-grandmother of Lucas Fazi. A special thanks to caregivers Casey and Karen for taking care of Helen and the late Frank for many years.

Antoinette “Toni’ Winning-Spicuzza

Passed peacefully at home surrounded by family and those who cared for her faithfully and loving on Monday, November 12, 2018.  A devoted member of St Gerard Majella Church, she and her late husband John attended daily mass for many years and were involved in the church community and in the Penn Hills community where Toni was a resident for nearly seven decades.  She had a ready smile and always time for a conversation and was a friend to, and a friend of many. One of six children from a large and loving Italian family from Cleveland, OH, Toni grew up during the depression and war and never forgot her humble beginnings, living life to the fullest in her own simple way.  Wife to James L. Winning (deceased) and John S. Spicuzza (deceased), she is survived by her children Rob Winning (Jeanne) and Linda Bayer and step-children Gary Spicuzza (Cheryl) and Claudia Sala (Chuck).as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Age 80, of Murrysville, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018. Aunt of Sheryl (George) Stratemeier, Michael (Cathleen), Hugh (Donna), Richard (Michelle) Schrier and Jean (John) Janiec; also survived by great nieces and nephews. Service and interment private.

 

 

John G.  “Jack” Wisnoski, Jr.

Age 88, of Penn Hills, born January 17, 1930, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2018.

Son of the late John and Marie Colette (Petersheim) Wisnoski; beloved husband of Elinor Wisnoski of 59 years; dedicated and caring father of Marie (Tom) Berg, Joyce (Jeff) O’Neill, David (Iris) Wisnoski and John (Paige) Wisnoski; cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Jeffrey, Sean, Theresa, Gwen and Claire; brother of the late Richard (Catherine) and David Wisnoski.

Jack’s early life challenges with degenerative eye disorder (Keratoconus) pioneered medical advancements starting with his first surgery by Dr. Raymond Castroviejo in 1945 which was the foundation to the world-wide adoption of Cornea Transplantation.

Jack continued with more eye surgeries and became involved with the establishment of the Medical Eye Bank of Western Pennsylvania which led to him becoming the Chairman of the Board for the Medical Eye Bank in 1992.

He worked as an automobile mechanic for Cochran Pontiac for 20 years and then became a financial planner for his last working years.
