Edward M. Adams

Age 57, of Penn Hills, on Monday, August 8, 2016. Beloved Son of Nelda and the late Edward Adams; brother of Lee Adams, Jody (Patrick) O’Connor and David (Maureen) Adams; uncle of Elyse Hacke, Brian Adams, Maureen Funkhouser, David O’Connor, Rachel, David and Ryan Adams and the Late Anthony Lujetic; loving companion of Zandy Dudiak. Ed was an outstanding athlete, All American High School Baseball player, 1977 WPIAL player of the year. He a Penn Hills Sports Hall of Fame inductee and played ball at the University of South Carolina. He was a sociology/psychology instructor and student support specialist for CCAC. Ed was also NSA PA State Director and PPMSSL Commissioner. He was a very loving, caring and compassionate man that will be sorely missed. Friends received in William F. Judith A. “Judy” Zerebnick

Of Churchill, on Thursday, July 28, 2016 while with family in San Diego, California. Daughter of the late Ann and Frank Zerebnick; beloved sister of Loretta and aunt of Krissy, Christopher, and Jennifer; great-aunt of Silas, Finn, and Woods. Retired after many dedicated years at Everett and Hurite. Survived by cousins, aunts, and friends. Master of knitting and baking; loved her Steelers. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the William F. Gross Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Blessing Service will be held Monday, August 8, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Twin Valley Cemetery in Delmont.

 

 

 

David Michael Battista

Of Shaler Township, on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the young age of 59 David suddenly left us. Son of the late Joseph and Alice Battista. David lived life on his own terms. A nature lover he embraced simplicity in life. He will be missed terribly by his Brother Joe and his sister in-law Kathy. Davey me boy you left us too soon.

 

Leon Spearman III

Of Pittsburgh, Mr. Leon Powe Spearman III, 28, died Thursday, July 28, 2016. He was born April 29, 1988 in Pittsburgh, a son of Michele Buckner (John Hanner), and Leon Spearman (Tracy).  Mr. Spearman was a Sergeant in the Marines; he was also a construction worker, and a carpenter. He was survived by a sister LaTasha Delynn Hanner, and a brother Michael Spearman both of Pittsburgh. Mr. Spearman was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Dan Ella Peters, and paternal grandfather Frank Spearman.  His maternal grandmother Lula Mae Tucker, and maternal grandfather Raymond Taylor Buckner. A host of Aunts, Uncles, Godmother, cousins, and many special friends.

The Celebration of life funeral service for Mr. Spearman will be will be held at the William F. Gross Funeral Home, Ltd. 11735 Frankstown Rd. (at Rodi Rd.), Thursday 10:30 a.m. with the burial to follow at 1 p.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Patricia A. (Naser)Then

Age 80, of Penn Hills, on Thursday, July 21, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Henry J. Then, Jr.; mother of Carol Newmaster, Linda Zacchia and Henry C. Then; grandmother of 5, great-grandmother of 4; sister of Charles “Sonny” Naser; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was a proud and long-time member of the girl scouts and the East Suburban Friendship Club.
